Citizens Advice Bureau?

Debt is making me so ill. I am thinking of going to see CAB to see if they can help in anyway at all or to tell me where to go from here. I don't want to get into any more debt. I have been reading about where the CAB can help by writing to creditor's etc and I understand that this would affect my name for getting future credit (not bothered about that though) but would it go against my house as well or my partner's name. Any help very much appreciated.

ThanksCitizens Advice Bureau?
Don't look for help, nobody can do this, only you, you can negotiate with your lenders after not payment for a few month, it will effect your name, but not your house or your partner name, unless his name on this. If you will work with CAB or any other agency, it will be more problem and you will loss control over your problem.Good Luck!

I am trying to get in contact with a Citizens advice Bureaux - is there someone else I can try ?

My neighbours - through erecting a fence have destroyed my fence (now neither of us has one as they used mine as a rest)

I have asked them and their lanlord to repair or replace this fence - but still nothing has been done this has being goining on for the last 3 months now - My privacy is being invaded and is annoying as i speak to the landlord/tennants and am assured that something shall be done but never is - plse can anyone advise what i should do next - trying the CAB but i can never get throughI am trying to get in contact with a Citizens advice Bureaux - is there someone else I can try ?
Citizens Advice is run by volenteers. So maybe there are not enough people to answer the phones. Tyr going to their address in person. You also might like to go see your lawyer.

Try 'Fight Back'. Here's the website:

Or you can consult a lawyer. Lawyers usually give a consultation for free. You can ask the lawyer to write a letter to the landlord of the property. A letter should not cost more than a couple of hundred dollars. Once the landlord gets a letter from a lawyer explaining how they will be taken to court, I'm SURE something will be done, pronto. The threat of a lawsuit is usually the catalyst to action, unfortunately.

  • I can't get through to Runnymede Citizens Advice Bureau, it's always engaged... what can I do?

Their line open/closing times are rubbish so there are only a few windows a week when I can ring them, and when I do it is constantly engaged, I've been trying for 2 weeks! I don't think I can just drop in, where else can I phone? I live in Runnymede Borough so I don't know if I can talk to a citizens advice bureau in a different borough, is there another one in Runnymede?

You could probably phone any CAB in the country for advice - they can give advice over the phone - if you need an appointment though I am not sure what you could do - have you left a message on the answer machine or does it not give you the option to do that. If you contact another CAB I'm sure if you explain the problem to them there is a way they can contact their head office and contact the relevant bureau for you.
